Kate Parsons

Elementary School Assistant Principal

Kate Parsons joined Springfield Prep in 2018 as a founding 4th grade teacher. She then went on to found the 5th grade team, then working as an Instructional Leader Fellow and most recently, Academic Dean. Before Springfield Prep, Kate taught in both Lawrence and Boston, Massachusetts. Kate began her teaching journey as a Match Teacher Resident at Match Community Day Charter School in Boston while earning her Masters in Effective Teaching from Sposato Graduate School of Education. Prior to moving to Massachusetts, Kate attended Colby College in Waterville, Maine. There, she earned her BA in Anthropology and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Kate is passionate about teacher development and ensuring students at Springfield Prep have excellent teachers leading their classrooms.
