Shawna Mitchell

Elementary School Principal

Shawna is a teacher, singer and leader who has worked in education since 2011. Shawna began her career in education working as a crisis paraprofessional, assistant teacher and eventually worked to a lead teacher position in New York City. She graduated from Nyack College with a Bachelors of Music and went on to earn a Master's degree at the Pace University School of Education. She joined the Springfield Prep family in 2016 as a Kindergarten teacher and has worked hard to serve students and families ever since. Shawna served as the Academic Dean for the lower elementary school prior to taking the Assistant Principal role in 2020 and the Elementary Principal Role in 2023.
